Girls Got Voice is relentlessly committed to taking full responsibility and providing excellence in every project & endeavor. We pride ourselves in taking on big challenges and seeing them through. Girls Got Voice is working to create a continuum of services for at-risk girls in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. We respond to what we see as the key issues and struggles that we as girls and our families face: poverty, discrimination, and violence. We work with the girls to make them able to see themselves within the context of their communities, realize their individual strengths and potential and, in turn, make the choice to become self-sufficient and contributing community members.
Unfortunately, girls in our society do not always have a say in decisions that affect their lives. Girls deserve to participate in their communities, advocate for their rights, and be role models for other girls. In our patriarchal society, girls’ voices are silenced and they have no say in major decisions that influence their lives. Instead of going to school, making friends, and gaining life-skills, many girls spend their time in cooking, cleaning, and caring for younger siblings. When girls are given the chance to have their voices heard, they can make a positive impact on the lives of their family, their community and the world.
Girls Got Voice is initiating impactful programs that include a focus on empowering girls and young women by promoting their self-confidence and providing them with leadership opportunities. We educate girls about their rights and encourage them to speak out on issues impacting their lives. We provide girls with a place to meet learn and engage.
